Trustee Nithin Jilla is a passionate educator, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist committed to building sustainable systems of social change that empower the next generation.

Trustee Jilla serves as the Founder and Executive Director of Dreams for Schools (DFS), which works to make STEAM education approachable and accessible for all students by expanding access to technology, hands-on learning experiences, and workforce pathways. Under his leadership, DFS has been recognized as Nonprofit of the Year in Orange County and has served thousands of students through school and community partnerships.

In addition to his nonprofit leadership, Trustee Jilla is active in the philanthropic and civic ecosystem as a certified philanthropic advisor to families focused on equitable grantmaking and next-generation engagement. He also co-founded Excelsior Creative, a technology and software development firm that supports nonprofits and mission-driven organizations with digital solutions.

Trustee Jilla serves on several nonprofit and advisory boards and is actively involved in advancing educational equity, digital literacy, Asian American issues, and community access to learning. He is also a co-author of a children’s book focused on celebrating Asian American culture, storytelling, and early literacy. 

Trustee Jilla holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine.
