The Placentia Library invites you to get ready for the Solar Eclipse! Starting April 1, free eclipse glasses will be available at the Information Desk, while supplies last. Then, find a park or lookout spot to watch the eclipse, or join us at our eclipse viewing party on Monday, April 8.

Limit of 4 glasses per family with your Placentia Library card. Don’t have a library card? Stop by the library to sign up, or click here to apply for a virtual card.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

Monday, April 8, 2024, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Placentia Library Lawn

On April 8, 2024, a solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Join us for this exciting event! The eclipse is estimated to begin around 10:05 a.m. and reach its peak around 11:12 a.m. For more details see the NASA eclipse website at https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/.

Glasses will be available starting at 9:00 a.m., while supplies last. While you’re waiting for the eclipse, join us as we learn about the solar system with crafts and activities for all ages!
