Placentia Library District provides assistance with English Literacy and Computer Literacy. Tutors assist students in improving their English or computer skills. The programs are designed to work at the students pace and to focus on skills that help them meet their personal goals. All tutoring sessions are held in the Placentia Library.
Please submit your completed application to the Adult Services Reference Desk. You will be contacted within one month.
English Language Literacy
One-to-one English Language tutoring for adults
Open to adults who would like to improve their English speaking, reading and writing skills.
English Conversation Club
Do you want to improve your English listening and speaking skills? Do you want to practice with others in a friendly and supportive environment?
For many English learners, fluency of the English language is a challenge. To meet this community need, the Placentia Library hosts a Conversation Club to help learners become more comfortable speaking English, improve vocabulary, and meet new people. The Conversation Club is a great opportunity to chat with other English language learners in a relaxed and comfortable environment. You will pick up new vocabulary, improve your English fluency and sharpen your pronunciation skills. No registration required.
The Club meets most Fridays every month from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the Placentia Library District Community Meeting Room.

One-to-one computer tutoring for adults
Open to adults who would like to improve their basic computer skills. A variety of skills from basic computer skills to Microsoft programs or Email functionality can be focused on during your tutoring sessions.
